Velden is the most southern and quiet village of this region, 4 km north of Venlo and 7 km south of Arcen. In addition to being one of the greenest villages in the country, Velden also enjoys the most hours of sunshine throughout the Netherlands. There are numerous walking and cycling routes through the area, with a number of beautiful nature reserves and a national park in the vicinity. Also take a day to go shopping in Venlo, less than 10 minutes away, or the big German city of Düsseldorf. You will find Europe’s biggest indoor shopping centre in Oberhausen.
